Clubs & Groups

Clubs at 好色导航 offer students the chance to get involved, connect with others, and explore their interests beyond the classroom. From creative arts and cultural groups to academic, service, and special interest clubs, there鈥檚 something for everyone. These groups are a great way to build friendships, develop new skills, and be part of the wider school community. Students are encouraged to join existing clubs or even start their own, helping make Lincoln High a vibrant and inclusive place for all.

Chess Club


Chess Club

Come along at lunchtimes & play socially or in competitions. We also send a team to the Canterbury Chess Interschool Competition.

Craft Club


Bring along any crafts you are currently working on or come along to learn to knit or crochet (hooks/needles & yarn are available to use). All skill levels welcome!

Dance Group


LHS Dance is an auditioned group of dancers who, over the year, rehearse on a weekly basis to perform at Christchurch competitions and at our own LHS Dance Showcase.

Debating


Do you like to argue with people? Do you have strong opinions? If so, then maybe the Debating Club is for you! Come along to our weekly meetings, learn the tricks of getting your ideas across in a fun & convincing way. Compete against other debaters and learn what makes an effective argument.

Duke of Edinburgh


The Duke of Edinburgh group is an internationally recognised award programme for young people aged between 14 & 25. This is an opportunity to challenge yourself, learn new skills, & make a real impact - all while having an unforgettable adventure. Whether it鈥檚 exploring the outdoors, giving back to your community, or pushing your limits, Duke of Ed helps you step up and stand out. Own your journey with an experience like no other!

Epro8 Challenge


Epro8 is a STEAM Challenge where students use their Science, Engineering and common sense to problem solve &  build solutions. It is an inter-school challenge with divisions for Juniors (Yr 9-10) & Seniors (Yr 11-13). Students participate in Teams of four.

E-Sports


Are you a keen gamer? Would you like to represent LHS, win glory for yourself and the school, from the comfort of your home? Then E-sports club could be for you! Each year the NZ Secondary E-sports League gives us a list of games that will be played competitively across the country. Teams that sign up compete weekly during the season for national titles. As a club, we meet at lunch, twice a week to practice, organize teams, or just to relax and play games.

Finance Club


All students Year 9 to Year 13 welcome. Learn, discuss, research, play games, share information about anything related to finances & the business world with other like-minded students. Finance

Club meetings will be during lunchtime. Dates will be posted on Teams. This is a senior student-led group.

Future Problem Solving Club


This is a super fun & creative programme where you get to think about real-world problems & come up with ideas for the future.

You鈥檙e given a topic & you work through a process: finding challenges & choosing the most important one, brainstorming creative solutions, & then developing the best one in an action plan. You can compete either on your own or in a team, so it鈥檚 great whether you like working independently or with friends. FPS helps give you skills like critical thinking, teamwork, & creativity, & what's good is it never feels boring or overly school-like. It鈥檚 challenging in a good way, & really satisfying when ideas come together, it鈥檚 a great opportunity to think big.

Hauora Wellbeing Group


This is your space, your voice, your wellbeing. The Student Wellbeing Group is run by students, for students, & focuses on creating a supportive school culture where everyone feels they belong. Get involved in discussions, events, & initiatives that actually matter to students. If you care about looking out for others (& yourself), this group is for you.

Japanese Culture Club


A club that members can use to connect with other students about the shared interest of anything Japanese. This could include manga, anime, the language, food/cuisine, calligraphy & many more.

LHS Beekeepers


LHS Beekeepers are involved in managing the school beehives. We get together, do hive inspections, maintain our beekeeping equipment & do other bee-related activities like harvest honey. We meet every week at school, and either do tasks here or travel to our hives for inspections.

LHS Christian Group


Following Jesus, or curious about it? Come & join us. We鈥檙e a group of likeminded students who meet every lunchtime (tbc) once a week in K5 to have discussions, play card games, and watch videos. You鈥檙e welcome in, there鈥檚 always food!

Lincoln Enviromental Club


An environmental/sustainability group focusing on involvement inKidsFest, Mahoe trips for planting or picking up rubbish, environmental activities - more ideas are welcome! Timing and locations TBC.

Media Crew


If you鈥檝e ever watched a school event video and thought, 鈥淚 could shoot this better,鈥 congratulations 鈥 you already belong here. The LHS Media Crew is the place where students learn the real craft of filmmaking and broadcasting: planning, shooting, sound, editing, & telling stories that actually make people care. We film house events, sports, showcases, assemblies, performances, & special projects around the school.

You鈥檒l get hands-on with cameras, mics, lighting, and editing gear 鈥 & yes, you鈥檒l actually use it, not just look at it while someone lectures you. We also have full podcast/radio broadcast facilities for you to tune up your presentation skills. Whether you want to make short films, capture live events, or learn how to run a broadcast like a pro, this is your launchpad. Come join the crew. Tell better stories. Make the school look good. (Make yourself look good while you鈥檙e at it.)

Music Group


The music department offers a variety of musical groups that are super fun & social. We also offer music lessons to students who want to get involved with a group. All rehearsals and lessons take place in the music department. Rehearsals are run during intervals & lunch.

The Pasifika group meet a couple of times per term to connect & celebrate Pasifika culture together. We want to continue to grow thenumbers of students that connect through this group.

Programming Challenge Club


Enter as a Team of 3, to solve as many problems as you can for points within the 3 hour window. Both strategy & programming skills required, but you can learn if interested.

A group for people who identify as part of our rainbow community, & their friends, who want to meet like-minded young people.

Secret Service Club


The Service Club is for students who want to give back & get involved in helping out around school. Whether you need service hours for DoE or SVA, want to work towards service colours, or just like being useful, this club is for you. Members help with things like set-up & pack-down for school events & pitch in where extra hands are needed.

Tabletop Role Playing Games Club


TTRPG club (tabletop role playing games) is where we teach you how to play games like Dungeons & Dragons (DnD). In club time we will do fun things that link to the genre & after school we will play the games online. It is a fun opportunity to learn skills, like problem solving & also some social skills.

Where: Our club runs every Wednesday lunchtime in S9, after school times are TBC.

Tech Angels


Think you're a bit of a computer tech wizz? Know how to do more than turn it on and off at the wall if there is a problem with a computer? We want you. Tech Angels help around school supporting students & staff with computer tech issues.

Love the buzz of a live show? Curious about what happens behind the curtain? Come learn how to run lighting, sound, video, backstage operations, & all the tech magic that makes performances come alive at LHS! We鈥檙e looking for committed, reliable students who bring a positive attitude, teamwork, & a willingness to learn. No experience needed 鈥 just enthusiasm & the desire to be part of the crew. Be the power behind the performance. Join Tech Crew!

Tournament of Minds is an international problem solving competition. It will help you develop your problem solving & teamwork skills while making great memories & friends.

Years 9-12 will meet Thursday lunchtime in D2 to discuss different texts/genres to help you widen your understanding of literature. Y13 students who are interested in taking the Scholarship English exam in 2026 should contact Ms Lamont (VLA).
