Surfing takes places on Wednesday afternoons in Sumner with Learn to Surf. Great instructors. 1:6 ratio so everyone gets plenty of individual attention.
Lessons are six weeks for two hours per week. The cost includes tuition, wetsuits and boards. Transport is by bus, compulsory to the beach and it returns to Lincoln about 6.15pm.
First in, first served basis.
We will require a group of 30 for it to go ahead this term - the maximum is 42. Once this number is reached, the system will advise that the maximum has been reached.
Lessons going ahead are fully dependent on the beach and weather conditions being safe.
The bus for surfing leaves from the driveway by F block, please go there as soon as the bell goes at 2.15pm. The bus will also return the students to the same place after surfing at approximately 6.00pm/6.15pm. The students are able to put their togs on at lunchtime and wear school uniform or sports clothes to the last period of the day.
Mr L'Huillier meets the students at Sumner and then makes sure they get back on the bus at the end of the lesson.
If sports fees are owing from previous years, these will need to be cleared before signing up for 2026.
If you are unable to make a lesson, please email, Learn to Surf, Aaron Lock [email protected] and the Sport Department [email protected].
Things to bring: Warm clothes, togs, towel, food, drink.
