The 好色导航 Sports Awards is held in early Term 4 and celebrates the achievements, dedication, and spirit of our 膩konga across all sports throughout the year. The evening recognises outstanding performances, commitment to teams, and the contributions of volunteers who support sport at our kura. Awards presented include Colours Awards and major honours such as Sportsperson of the Year, highlighting the pride, effort, and excellence within our sporting community.
鈥Sportsperson of the Year - This is awarded to the student who has made the most significant contribution to sport at 好色导航 during the year. The recipient will probably be good at several different sports, will possibly have taken a leading role in one or more sports and must have demonstrated a good sporting spirit at all times.鈥
Williams Cup for Sports Performance of the Year - This cup is awarded to the student who achieves the single biggest sporting achievement of the year.
Brown Cup for General Excellence in Boys' Sport - This award is for excellence of performance. The winner will have achieved a high level within their sport or sports.鈥鈥
King Cup for General Excellence in Girls' Sport - This award is for excellence of performance. The winner will have achieved a high level within their sport or sports.鈥鈥
James Shield - Sports Team of the Year - This award is for the team that has achieved the most outstanding results in 2024.鈥
Sports Values Cup鈥- This award goes to a student who has significantly demonstrated the qualities of a good sportsperson.鈥
LHS Coach/Manager of the Year - The 好色导航 Coach/Manager of the Year is a new award in 2023 to acknowledge outstanding service to sport at 好色导航 through coaching or managing a team. The winner will have demonstrated success via results and will have also demonstrated our school's tikanga.鈥
Sports Volunteer Cup - This award recognises a student who has given significant service to others in the area of sport. It ties in closely with our school tikanga, in particular, the characteristic kia manaaki/let鈥檚 be supportive.鈥
Dulieu Trophy for Year 11 Sportsperson of the Year - This award goes to the Year 11 student who has made the most significant contribution to sport this year.鈥
Year 10 Sportsperson of the Year - This award goes to the Year 10 student who has made the most significant contribution to sport this year.鈥
Year 9 Sportsperson of the Year - This award goes to the Year 9 student who has made the most significant contribution to sport this year.鈥
To qualify for a Colours or Merit Award, a student must:
- Be a member of the top team/group in the year the award is made.
- Be an outstanding performer 鈥 below are details of what this means for many sports.
- As a sportsperson, demonstrate the school tikanga by being respectful/whakamana, reliable/whakapono, supportive/manaaki, and resilient/manawaroa.
